Wednesbury Learning Community invite all 10 primary schools to participate in an annual Public Speaking Competition, held in the Council Chambers at Sandwell Council House. Two heats were held in school to whittle down to two representatives, one from Year 3/4 and another from Year 5/6.

This year, Penny W from Year 4 and Layla V from Year 6 attended on our behalf. They eloquently delivered well-crafted speeches on the topic of 'What challenges do children today have compared to the last generation?' and I am delighted to share that Penny from Year 4 won the Years 3 & 4 competition- for the second year in a row! Huge congratulations to both girls and Penny for her well deserved win. This is now the third time we have brought the trophy home.

The competition was its toughest yet and was judged by Sally Giles- Director of Education and Children's Services, Simon Foster- Police and Crime Commissioner for Sandwell and Councillor Syeda Khatun MBE, Mayor of Sandwell.
