This term Year 1 are reading The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson.

We have been reading the story, discussing the different characters, sequencing what happened in the story and using adjectives to describe what the Gruffalo looks like!

Mathematics

We have started our studies in mathematics by investigating the different types of manipulatives (practical materials) we use in class to help the children's understanding.

We have investigated double sided-counters, string beads, Diennes Apparatus, number blocks and Numicon.

We are learning to recognise, sequence and order numbers from 0 to 20.

W/C - 26th October 2022

This week we continued our learning on The Gruffalo. We made a delicious Gruffalo Crumble and learnt how to use bossy verbs when writing instructions. We enjoyed following this delicious recipe and we took some photos to show the steps.
