Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Time2Talk offered by Place2Be has proved very popular already. Children can access this service at break or lunchtimes. Last week Mel Denniss, School Project Manager, received 40 self referrals. Whilst a few children referred more out of intrigue at this stage rather than having a genuine worry or concern, this is great because in the future should they ever have an issue, they know exactly how and where to access the support they need. Some children have recognised that they have ongoing friendship issues and have approached Mel as a group which is admirable.
Next week is National Children's Mental Health Week and we will be doing even more in school to break down those barriers around mental health. Children will hear the message that it's good to be ourselves and that it's good to talk.
Unfortunately we are seeing an increasing number of dogs being brought onto our school playgrounds and last week a dog fouled right on the ramp into the mobiles which a child then trod into the building! Whilst the majority of dogs are being carried, this is still not acceptable; we have had an incident previously where a child was bitten by a dog being carried by a parent on the playground. Although the dog was not vicious, it was nervous; the child wanting to stroke it was unfamiliar and its first instinct was to bite.
School policy is no dogs allowed on school site. Please support us in keeping our children safe.
Thank you.
